Donges Bay Road Reconstruction

(Fond du Lac Avenue to Wasaukee Road)

Reconstruction of Donges Bay Road is scheduled to begin spring 2024.  This work is anticipated to be completed in fall.  The road from Fond du Lac Avenue to Washington Drive that pavement will be milled and overlayed with asphalt. The road from Washington Drive to Wasaukee Road will be reconstructed with new curb, gutter and pavement.

A detour is planned to begin this summer due to the replacement of the stream crossing structure, also known as a box culvert.  During the box culvert replacement at the crossing of the Nor-X-Way channel, a detour will be in place for the “bridge out”.   Traffic can detour onto Mequon (STH 167) or onto County Line Road (CTH Q) to navigate around this infrastructure improvement project. This detour is to remain in place for the duration of construction this summer until the road opens in fall 2024.

During construction, access to local residences and business will be maintained, however delays in travel are to be expected.   It is recommended that travelers take a different route for their travels if possible.  Final completion of construction is anticipated in fall of 2024.

Holy Hill Road Reconstruction

(“B” St. to east of Goldendale Rd)

Reconstruction of Holy Hill Rd is scheduled for 2022, with an estimated start date in April.  Relocation of power poles and gas mains by We-energies has started.  Reconstruction of Holy Hill Rd was included in the scope of infrastructure improvements in the TID #8 Industrial Development, which means the TID will fund the cost for the reconstruction.  In addition, the Village of Germantown has received a 1-million-dollar Grant from the State of Wisconsin to be used towards the reconstruction.

The road will be constructed as a 4-lane divided roadway (refer to maps) which consists of 2 lanes of traffic in each direction separated by an 18-foot wide median.  The reconstruction will include curb/gutter, asphalt pavement, a 10-foot sidewalk on the southside, a 6-foot walkway on the northside and street lights in the median.  The intersection with Goldendale Rd will be controlled by traffic lights with future traffic lights to be installed at additional intersections as traffic flow dictates.

During construction two-way traffic will be maintained with delays in travel to be expected, it is recommended that travelers take a different route for their travels if possible.  Final completion of construction is schedule for November 18, 2022.
