Michael Matter purchased the property in 1842 from the government. The 2-Story stone farmhouse and outbuildings were completed in 1844 from stone and wood harvested from the property. The ceilings in the house are 9’ which is unusual for the time, but it was said that Michael was a tall man. In 1997 there was a 1000 ft2 addition that respected the architectural integrity of the house. Many updates and restoration projects have occurred to keep the house as original as possible. 

 This home received Germantown Historic Designation in 2023.
