1. What do I need to apply for a work permit?

Work permits are only needed for children that are younger than 16 years old that have recently been hired. Work permits are issued by the Park and Recreation Department Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. 

When applying for a work permit the applicant must be present and bring the following items:

• A letter from the employer on letterhead stating the type of work the minor will be doing.
• Official identification ( birth certificate, baptismal certificate, state ID card, etc.)
• Their original Social Security Card
• $10 payment (either cash or check)
• Signed letter of parental consent

2. How can I reserve a Germantown Park Shelter?

You can reserve a Germantown Park Shelter by calling 262-250-4710 or through the online reservation tool available through the Village’s website under the Park and Recreation Department.

3. How do I report unsightly park property, garbage in parks, dead park trees or other similar issues?

For all of these issues please call the Public Works Department to report it at 262-250-4721.

4. How do I report a problem with play equipment, tennis nets, park restrooms, picnic tables, path lights, etc?

Please call the Park & Recreation Department at 262-250-4710 to report any damaged park equipment.

5. Does the Village use pesticides and fertilizers on Village greenspaces?

Yes, the Village does use fertilizers and weed killers on Park green spaces.  The Village contracts out much of this work.  The treated areas are posted as per regulations.  If you have specific questions, please call 262-250-4721.

6. Are dogs allowed in Village parks?

Yes.  Please keep pets on and leash and clean up after them.  Thank you.

7. Can I practice golf in Village parks?

No.  Golf is NOT allowed in any Village Park.

8. Where can I purchase a County Park Pass? How much does it cost?

Park Passes for Washington County can be purchased through the County Planning and Parks Department either online, by mail, or in-person at either the Planning and Parks Department in West Bend or at the Washington County Golf Course in Hartford. The annual park passes cost $30 for residents of Washington County, $40 for Non-Residents, and $20 for veterans and people over the age of 60.

Day passes are also available and cost $5. These can be purchased the same way the other passes can be and can additionally be purchased at the entrance of the parks.
