Policies

Policy Type
Description
Fees
It is the policy of the department that program participants help defray the overall cost of the activity (i.e., equipment, facilities, staffing, etc.) through the assessment of fees and charges. However, the department does not wish to exclude children who are unable to pay these fees due to hardships that may occur. Parents who feel they are unable to afford the fees for a program should contact the park and recreation director prior to registration.
Insurance Coverage
The Germantown Park and Recreation Department does not carry medical or hospital insurance for injuries or illness participants may sustain in programs. Prior to registering, you should review your health insurance policy for coverage. Absence of personal health insurance coverage does not make the Park and Recreation Department responsible for payment of participant’s medical coverage. All persons participating in department sponsored activities must provided their own insurance and assume risk for all injuries. The department will not be liable for personal liabilities or accidents.
No Smoking / Alcohol Use Policy
A reminder to program participants: The use of all tobacco products or drinking of alcoholic beverages on premises owned by the Germantown School District is prohibited by state law. Your cooperation in upholding this law is necessary.
Nonresident Registration
For registration purposes, a nonresident is anyone who does not reside within the corporate boundaries of the village and does not pay property taxes to the village or the Germantown school district. In the case of nonresident participation, nonresident users contribute an additional fee or surcharge to offset their non-tax status for programs.
