Development Requirements

The general purpose of stormwater management is to implement long-term, post-construction runoff management that will diminish threats to public health, safety, welfare, and the aquatic environment.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) compels and enforces stormwater management within the State of Wisconsin, and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) imposes additional storm water management controls within the district. As a subservient municipality to Wisconsin DNR and MMSD, the Village of Germantown established stormwater management requirements and a permitting process that integrates with Wisconsin DNR and MMSD requirements.

New Rainfall Depths for Storm Water Management (March 17, 2014)

The Village adopted NOAA ATLAS-14 rainfall depths. Designers should use the statistical rainfall depths computed from the nearest weather station to the project.
